By Lolis Eric Elie
It seems that hardly a month goes by without some sort of music festival in New Orleans—French Quarter Fest, Voodoo Fest, Satchmo Summer Fest, Essence Music Fest, Jazz Fest—to name only the biggest ones. The amazing thing is that these festivals feature musicians who are always world class and often world famous. It’s only fitting then that ‘Treme’ create its own festival featuring our own musicians as the finale for Season 2.
Tuesday, May 3 from 8 a.m. until, we’ll host a free festival featuring:
- Wanda Rouzan’s New Orleans Review
- Donald Harrison with Big Chief Albert Lambreaux (Clarke Peters) and Delmond Lambreaux (Rob Brown)
- Appearances by other ‘Treme’ cast members and musical performers
What we need are festival-goers, people like you who would enjoy hearing good music, eating good food and enjoying what has been a beautiful cool spring in New Orleans. ALL FOR FREE! Plus, we’ll be raffling televisions, HBO DVD box sets, CDS and more.
If you’re in or near New Orleans, please join us. The check-in and parking area is in the heart of City Park, under the I-610 overpass at Zachary Taylor Dr. Follow the blue “FNN” signs.
For more information, please call (504) 940-7364.
Hope to see you there!
